CRAZY FOR ALL THOSE TURNS

Some say our turns are "old school" but I never get tired of looking back at the dozens of S turns my group of friends just made down a slope of fresh powder. I also loving taking pictures of them making those turns but yesterday there was no time to stop and do photography. The snow was light, the sky was blue, and there was 22 inches of new snow to enjoy. After a "powder drought" this season we were skiing fast and not stopping to pose. There was some time on the lift to snap a few shots! What a marvelous day if was.

Chris Waddell to Speak at Snowdance and Auction, Snowbasin, 1/14/2012
SAVE THE DATE! Jan. 14, 2012. Snowdance and Auction to benefit The Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation and the OVBA. This year's keynote speaker is Chris Waddell, a Gold and Silver Medalist, and four-time Winter and Summer Olympic Paralympian.
Chris Waddell was a promising young skier at Middlebury College in 1988 when a skiing accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. Determined to get back on the slopes, he began skiing on a monoski roughly one year later. A little more than two years later, Waddell was named to the US Disabled Ski Team. Waddell went on to become the most decorated male skier in Paralympic history, winning twelve medals over four games, and spending a total of 11 years on the US Disabled Ski Team. Read more...
